This is one natural Ammonite fossil, which has been polished on all sides, making it the perfect size for a pocket, purse, pillow, or palm. These stones would also make a perfect addition to a crystal grid.

One piece will be intuitively chosen from our selection of available tumbled stones. Sizes and colors will vary, as well as inclusions and surface features. Tumbled stones have been smoothed via rock tumbler, and may have a matte or shiny polished surface; unless listed in description, stones are completely natural and untreated.

PHYSICAL: Ammonites are the fossilized remains of an ancient cephalopod mollusk. Ammonites are one of the ancestors of the modern nautilus. Ammonites were once top ocean predators, and over time their shells have been replaced by minerals, resulting in fossilization. The majority of Ammonites are found in Madagascar (like these) or Morocco. The yellow suture lines on these ammonite fossils fluoresce under blacklight!

Healing Lore:
Ammonite fossils are especially stimulating to architects and those in the construction field. They are protective, giving stability and structure to ones life. Ammonite fossils may encourage survival instincts, and help us to see "the whole picture" of our lives. The fossil is named for the Egyptian god Ammon, because their shape resembles his ram horns. Ammonite fossils were prized by the ancient Egyptian and Roman societies, and were considered to have magical and holy powers.
