PHYSICAL:
Physical: Spinel is a group of silicate minerals that form in many colors, the rarest of which is blue. Red spinel is well-known, and several of the most famous rubies in history were actually Spinels. Mahenge was virtually unknown for spinel gems until 2007, when a farmer in his field found a giant pink-red octahedral spinel crystal weighing in at 114 pounds! With this discovery, thousands of carats of spinel from this Tanzanian region hit the market, competing with Afghanistan’s famous “Balas Rubies” (red spinels from the Balas region). Mahenge has since become world-renowned for its beautiful pink and red spinel crystals.
HEALING: Red spinel is associated with good luck, abundance, positive energy, and physical healing. It’s associated with business success and abundance especially.
