Mineral Name: Gold

Locality: Dunolly, Central Victoria, Australia.

Dimensions: 0.50" x 0.19" (13mm x 5mm)

Characteristics of this specimen: Gold is one of the most precious metals on earth, and forms in a native (uncombined element), as seen here. A gold nugget is a classic form for gold to occur in, and can be found in gold veins or in rivers by gold panning. Dense and malleable, it is often used for jewelry but has a great deal of value as a specimen.

Care Notes: Like all metallic minerals, gold specimens should be kept out of water and out of the elements to prevent oxidation.

-----

Healing Keywords: Gold is associated with the purification and activation of chakras, and has been called "the master healer".
