Locality: Yaogangxian Mine, Yaogangxian W-Sn ore field, Yizghang Co., Chenzhou, Hunan, China.
Dimensions: 1.00" x 0.96" (26mm x 25mm)
Characteristics of this specimen: This is a small, light blue fluorite cube on pale golden mica blades. The cube of fluorite is aesthetic and high quality—these mini cubes display excellent clarity and light reflection, which is most transparent when backlit. The terminations of most crystals are sharp and clean, though the cluster does have minor damage. Blades of mica below it have an aesthetic look. This is a high-quality miniature specimen from a well-known Chinese locality--it would offer a lot of beauty to any specimen collection!
Care Notes: Fluorite is a halide mineral that forms in isometric habits, including cubes, octahedra, dodecahedra. It forms in a rainbow of colors. Fluorite is photo-sensitive, so care should be taken to not leave in prolonged sun.
