Hidden Forest Green Daylight UV Fluorite Galena #3 Mineral Specimen (Diana Maria Mine, Weardale, England)
This is a beautiful green fluorite cluster from the new Hidden Forest pocket, from world famous Diana Maria mine in Weardale, England! This variety of fluorite is highly collectible, due to the diversity of pockets from Diana Maria mine (previously closed but currently open), as well as Weardale’s famous daylight fluorescent property. This fluorite specimen also displays tiny crystals of Galena, an associated mineral with the fluorite of Weardale. Hidden Forest pocket fluorites are deep green in indoors light, fluoresce brightly under UV, and take on a deep blue tone under sunlight. This is an exceptional specimen from this famous mine, which will only continue to rise in value!
Characteristics of this locality: Fluorite from Weardale is known worldwide. The normally cubic crystals from this region range in color from clear to purple to yellow to pale green to brightest green, often with grey or blue phantom zones. Under ultraviolet light (blacklight), these crystals glow blue brightly! They are reactive enough to ultraviolet light that they will begin to turn blue in the sun.
