Formation: Green Monster Mine is a mixed metal mine in the copper bearing area of the Ketchikan Mining District in southern Alaska. This mine has produced gold, silver, copper, and many attractive minerals, including the distinctive Epidote crystals found here. Green Monster specimens can be found in many museums and extremely selective mineral collections—the mine was closed to the public in 2004. Epidote is a sorosilicate mineral, which is found in regional and contact metamorphic rocks. It forms in habits including massive, monoclinic prismatic crystals, and lovely crystal fans.

HEALING: Epidote is believed to help in the acceptance of positive changes, and is believed to aid in making correct choices and emulating what we want to receive. It is a stone of vitality and abundance.
