Moldavite is a rare and highly valued impact glass with a wild past--it formed during a meteorite strike nearly 15 million years ago, in what is now Czech Republic. Impact glasses (or tektites) are natural glasses that form from the extreme heat and movement of material during an impact event--Moldavite is unique to this single locality.
This piece adds an earthy yet high vibration edge to any jewelry collection.

PHYSICAL: Tektites are not meteorites, but rather an impact glass that forms during meteorite or other high temperature impact events. Tektites are capable, however, of trapping material from terrestrial and meteoritic material--we see these impact glasses on other planets such as Mars, where heavy bombardment has occurred. Moldavite is a unique tektite that is only found in the Czech Republic--when faceted, it forms bright olive green gems.
HEALING: Moldavite is believed to be a stone of spiritual evolution, and is associated with both the crown chakra and the heart chakra.
Care for gemstones in sterling silver jewelry:
As with all natural stones set in silver, these jewelry pieces should be removed when taking a shower, swimming, or entering a hot springs. Water (especially hot water) can damage natural materials and even cause settings to fail. This is especially true with gemstone rings!
*Though many gems and minerals have historical and cultural associations with healing properties, these items are sold for wear in jewelry, display, study, and collector interest only.
