$250.00

This is a unique multistone pendant, featuring a mexican jelly Opal in matrix and a faceted sphene gemstone! The faceted round sphene (aka titanite) has a characteristic citrus yellow-green shade and orange and green fire, difficult to describe. The cabochon-cut Mexican Opal has a unique appearance with opal in a pink-cream rhyolite matrix—the opal sections display impressive rainbow fire. The two stones are set in a unique hybrid between prongs and a bail, with an open back so the stone may touch your skin. Super cool and unique combination of gems! All pendants are sold separately—you may purchase a chain in Sterling Silver Chains, and contact us to see more of our Ethiopian Jewelry collection.)

Healing: Fire Opals were highly prized by the Mayans as well as the Aztecs--they called the fire opal "quetzalitzlipyollitli", the 'stone of the bird of paradise'. It is believed that fire opals bestow courage, stamina, and vitality, as well as the intuitive enhancement associated with all opals. Fire opals are associated with the Sacral Chakra, which governs sexuality and creativity. It is also thought that fire opals disperse outdated ways of thinking and make room for positive change.

Keywords: Psychic energy, intuition, inner journeys, Dreamtime.
Chakra: Third Eye (6)
Element: Wind

*Note: Mexican opals must stay out of water and away from heat and chemicals, which may damage the opal irreparably. Mexican Opals do not have the stability that Australian stones are known for--the stones may change color permanently or craze (hairline fracture) if exposed to water or heat.

Care for gemstones in sterling silver jewelry:

As with all natural stones set in silver, these jewelry pieces should be removed when taking a shower, swimming, or entering a hot springs. Water (especially hot water) can damage natural materials and even cause settings to fail. This is especially true with gemstone rings!

*Though many gems and minerals have historical and cultural associations with healing properties, these items are sold for wear in jewelry, display, study, and collector interest only.
