Topaz is a mineral which is so hard, it is softer only than corundum varieties, like ruby or sapphire, and diamonds. Topaz may form in blue, colorless, pink, golden, or imperial (champagne pink to gold combination). Some of the finest golden topaz crystals are found in Thomas Range, Utah.
